empties...

So it's been a while since I blogged. My life got turned upside down. Again. My house flooded for the second time. We were in the house for only a year after it flooded for Hurricane Isaac, the first time.

This time there was a freak rain storm that didn't move for hours. A lot of houses in my area flooded.

I had a big bag that was full of empties from the month of May that I threw away cause I couldn't be bothered with it at the time. Since the beginning of July I have started to just take a picture of whatever I've finished abd then chunk it. For right now that's the easiest way. Hopefully within the next month my life will get back to normal as we are moving to a new(old) house. It's just being remodeled right now. Flooding twice is no fun.

Anyway. Onto the empties.

Body wash. These are two that I liked but didn't love. They were a cream formula and smelled divine. But I prefer a gel body wash.

I really enjoyed this shampoo. I picked it up from TJ Maxx for fairly cheap. I'll def buy this again in the future.

I didn't care for this moisturizer so I just threw it away. I thought it would be something light and nice to use under makeup in the morning. It was ok at first and then halfway thru the tube it started to burn.

This is something else I liked at first. I think it just went bad after a while. It firmed a film on top and around the sides. And the pump on it was crap.

I'm very sad to see this perfume go. It was a great everyday scent.

This stuff was great. I consider the high end 'It's a 10'. This was just a sample but I think I will get this when I'm done using what I have now.

Face wash. Nothing special. I liked to use this with my Clarisonic. It was good. I would probably buy it again.

I enjoyed the Joico conditioner as much as the shampoo. And this Suave shampoo..I only bought it because it smells awesome.

I wasn't really impressed with this L'Oreal serum. Definitely not impressed with the packaging. I couldn't get all of the product out and the top of the bottle would not come off. Won't purchase this again.

This body wash is pretty old. It smelled great tho.

At one point in time this was my HG face moisturizer. I still love it but I don't think it's doing anything for me anymore.

These Neutrogena makeup remover wipes are my favorite of all that I've tried. I don't know why I keep trying different ones when I always come back to these. And this was a sample of Murad's Time Release Acne Cleanser. I liked it. Might get it in the future.

Anyway. That's all for now. I'm trying to work thru some samples and half used up things. Hopefully I can make a dent in them and that will be less I'll have to move in *hopefully* a month.

accidental haul

This wasn't supposed to happen.

I've been trying to use bronzer more often and have been using it to contour. I decided to buy the NARS Contour Blush in Olympia. I've read a lot of great reviews about it. I just need to perfect my contouring techniques.

Also the NARS eyeshadow duo in Kalahari has been tempting me for a long long time. Finally decided on getting it! I really should have picked it up during the recent sale.

Dior Fluidstick in Tiny Pink. Beautiful pink. I hope I like the consistency. I think this color is exclusive to Sephora.

Sephora brand lipsticks in Seduce and Love Spell.

Finally! My Sephora had the VIB Rouge polish back in stock. And I can't believe this is my first red nail polish ever.

I also have an unheard of number points. They never really have any gifts I'm interested in. But this one seems nice. It has an NARS eyeshadow size of Deep Throat blush, which is one of my favorites so it will be great for travel. A sample size of a satin lip pencil and a sample size of their black eyeliner which in excited to try. And a little sample of the eyeshadow primer which I already use and love.

It's been a whole since I've bought any color products from NARS. I'm not really devoted to the brand like a lot of oeople are.

I am also on the fence on getting the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion. I really like the one I have in Didfued Heat. And I think Dim Infusion would be a great everyday color.

Maybe next time...

April Empties

April was my attempt to use my collection of samples I have been hoarding. I made a dent in it but still have a ton left.

None of them were great. I already have a full size of the Glam Glow mask and the Fresh Soy face cleanser, so they were nothing new.

And I still have a ton of perfume samples left. I love the Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey. I could buy a full size of that! And I already have the original Narciso Rodriguez so the L'Eau version was nice to try. Marc Jacobs Dot was just ok for me.

Staples. Can't seem to live with out them. The Pear and Snow ones were half  used from the holidays so I just finished them up.

Brocato Peppermint Scrub. Liked it, but moved into a different brand.
Dove deorerant. My fav brand, I just usually rotate scents. This was the pomegranate one.
B&BW hand sanitizer. Another staple. The scents don't usually matter to me but this one was really nice, Bella Flora.
Real Techniques makeup sponge. Not a Beauty Blender dupe in my eyes. The shape is weird and it's just too dense and stiff.
Fresh Sugar Face Polish. Love this stuff. Already bought a replacement. It's a mask/scrub. It leaves my skin so smooth and radiant looking.
Dolce & Gabanna The One. Loved this scent when I first got it but now I'm over it and in glad to see it empty.

Powder, mascaras, concealers, etc. nothing exceptional here.

Cotton squares. I hate these. I bought these a while back when I couldn't find cotton rounds ANYWHERE!!! Finally finished them up.

I really dislike the Glade Wax Melts. They only last for one melt and they don't have a good scent throw. I have a few more packs I'm working my way through. The Wal Mart brand is much better and a bit cheaper.

B&BW candles. Party Dress was my favorite. Meet Me In Tahiti was good. Raspberry Peach Macroon is awesome! This candle quit burning about half way through. I'm now using the wax in my warmer.

That is all for now. I went through my makeup and threw away a bunch of old cream products. I need to go through again and decide on what I don't use and try to do another blog sale.

Have a good weekend!

i hauled

Bought a few things today.

Maybelline Color Elixers.
I'm Blushing and Breathtaking Apricot.

Jennifer's Nude. It's almost perfect.
(Am I the only one who loves L'Oreal lipsticks?)

Essie is becoming my favorite polish here lately.
Too Taboo. Thrills & Chills. I'm Addicted.

Two things I've been interested in trying.

I only go to Old Navy once a year. To buy flip flops.

And these cute stud earrings.

And I love me some cute ankle socks.
Anchors and little crawfish (at least to me)

And flip flops. Brown, black, pink, and grey. Essential colors.

March Empties

I used up quite a bit this month.

Whole Foods brand, 365, Lavendar shampoo. I bought this for myself cause it smelled great but it was horrible in my hair. So I used to to clean my brushes.

Bath & Body Works hand soap. Staple item in my life.

Tree Hut Shea Shower Wash. Honey & Almond scented. I only bought this because of the scent. I love it.

Batiste Dry Shamp. Staple item. Cherry scented.

Boots toner, from Target. It's ok.

Neutrogena eye makeup remover. Again, it's ok.

Bamboo Volume Spray. I have tried just about every product that claims to volumize your hair. This product, the whole line really, works.

B&BW hand soap. Didn't care for this scent.

B&BW Sweet on Paris body wash. I bought a ton of these during the semi annual sale. LOVE this scent.

Finished this eye cream. It was ok. Didn't love it. But I finished it.

Cotton rounds. From Target. These were the larger ones that I use with cleansing water.

Clarisonic Sensitive brush head. The only one I use and ever buy.

Finished off a set of wax tarts.

I am trying to go through my stock of B&BW candles. This one is one of them. Not a huge fan of this scent.

It's amazing to see what I use up each month. I quite like this.

update... 3/30/14

You know how I really wanted the Clarisonic Pedi Sonic just a few days ago...
Well, I read a few reviews on Sephora and QVC. And needless to say, the reviews were not that great.

While on QVC, I searched a bit more for pedicure tools and such and stumbled upon this.

Emoji Micro-Pedi.

And all the reviews were great. And a hell of a lot cheaper. I read quite a few raving reviews and watched the on-air demonstration. And ordered it.

It's cheaper than what I paid for my last pedicure.

I can't wait to get it in the mail.

diary - 3/28/14

Random things from this week...

I used my bronzer as a crease color all this week. And I really liked it.

I need to stay out of Bath & Body Works.

I want a Clarisonic Pedi Sonic. And I want it bad. But it's nearly $200. Maybe a birthday gift to myself. From myself.

Speaking of birthdays, I will be turning 30 this year. WTF happened?

I still want Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Delight. The new version for summer. The Daisy Delight Eau de Toilette doesn't smell nearly as good to me.

I need another fragrance like I need a hole in my head.

I hate all the eye makeup removers I've bought recently. I need affordable suggestions.

I am pleasantly surprised by the new-ish Equate beauty skin care line. It's definetly comparable to the Clinique line.

I just realized I used the Clinique 3 step system over 10 years ago.

I need to bring my dog to the vet tomorrow. I dread the vet on a Saturday.

And lastly, I am finally getting a haircut on Monday. I've put it off too long.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

diary entry 3/13/13 current wants

Ugh. Why must I want all the perfumes?!?!?

My collection of fragrances has grown and it's almost to the point of embarrassing.

And I want to add more.

Light Blue is one of my all time favorite fragrances. A few summers ago (?) when they released a LE spin on the original, Dreaming in Portofino, I was all over it.

I can't wait to go in store and try the new LE one for this year.

This one seems right up my alley. Bergamot. Jasmine. Patchouli. My kinda perfume!

And I'm starting to enjoy florals now. I don't own the original Marc Jacobs Daisy, but I do own the Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine that was LE to last summer.

And I now want Daisy Delights.

Again. Scents I love. Apple. Gardenia. Sandalwood.

I'm also kinda feeling the Daisy Eau So afresh Delights. But I must reel myself in at done point.

And that is all for now. And I really want these. Want it so bad I'm to the point of ordering online. And I don't believe in ordering perfumes you've never tried online.

What are your currents wants? I may have to add them to my list.

February Empties

I really enjoy watching and reading empties videos and blog posts. So I decided to save up my stuff too.
So here are my February Empties!

Bath & Body Works. I can go ahead and say this place is a staple in my life now. I keep saying I'm going to quit them but I can't. Winter Candy Apple is a favorite. Both of the hand soaps are just meh to me.
I also don't have a preference to the foam or the gel hand soaps. I buy them both.

Urban Deacay All Nighter - got this little one in a Sephora 500 point set. love it, use it daily anyway
Cover Girl Outlast foundation - it's amazing how great this foundation is. I scraped out a bunch of it and there is still a good bit left, but for how cheap it is I'm not going to bother. Bought a replacement this weekend.
Prescriptives Site Unseen concealer - let's be real, this thing is old...just throwing it out now
Maybelline Dream Lumi concealer - I don't love this stuff, just like it..but with that being said this is my third tube I've finished.

Paul Mitchell volumizing spray - really like this stuff
L'Occitane hand cream - works good but not crazy about the scent
Escada Cherries in the Air perfume - liked it in the store, then I became indifferent about it.
The eye drops are also a staple and I finished one of about 35 Jo Malone samples I have. This one was Blackberry & Bay. Liked it, but I haven't found the right one to layer it with.

And that is all for the month of February!!

February 18,2014 - new additions

Made 2 new additions to my blush collection. MAC Petal Power. MAC Azalea in the Afternoon.

I just couldn't help myself.

It has been quite a while since I made a MAC purchase, besides foundation and eye brow pencils.

I used MAC Azalea in the Afternoon today and loved it.

In other news...

I've pulled out a few items that I want to concentrate on using up...bronzer, concealer, face powder, a blush...that I have hit pan on and just sitting in my collection for too long.

Also since I've started saving my empties, February seems to be the month of empties. I know I don't usually have this many on a regular basis.
